When we’re asked to make a decision, whether difficult or not, we tend to lean first on our logic to come up with an answer. We try to rationalise, make a list of pros and cons, or even worse… we ask other people to help.
But here’s an important lesson I learned over the last year or so of having to make some extremely tough decisions: Sometimes it’s your body, not your mind, that holds the key to the decision you need to make. Your body often knows the answer, your mind might just be obscuring it.
So, how can you learn to listen to your body in order to extract an answer? Glad you asked! Instead of telling you in theory how to do this, I want to leave you with a clip from Tim Ferriss’ podcast with Diana Chapman who invented one of my favourite tools The Whole Body Yes.
So if you have any decisions coming up, big or small, I hope this helps.
Enjoy.
