Most people who want to become entrepreneurs spend way too much time thinking and preparing and way too little time doing. I already know someone is not yet a serious entrepreneur when I hear things like this:
š© āI just need to get my website finished and then Iāll startā
š© āI really want to get my company name and logo right before I get startedā
š© āIām starting to build my daily routines and software setup, then Iāll start for sure, just need to find the right To Do list appā
š© āThings are a bit stressful right now with X, Y or Z, Iāll get back to my business idea next monthā
If youāre saying these things, itās kind of like saying you are a professional swimmer who only reads, learns and talks about swimming but hasnāt jumped in the pool yet.
I can basically bet money on the fact that these people will be making the same excuses the next time I see them.
You already know enough to get started, stop using āgetting readyā as an excuse and GO. Or just admit youāre not an entrepreneur and work for someone else (which is sometimes a much better option).
Start creating value and making money, learn and fix things on the job.
Cheers,
Jonathan
P.S. I might try doing 2 articles a week, lemme know if you like that idea in the comments.
I like the pool analogy, because what you need to do is just dive in, but I only know a handful of entrepreneurs who were confident enough to do that of their own volition.
What seems more common is people are either pushed into entrepreneurship out of necessity (putting food on the table however they can) or they stumble into it (hey this little side hustle is taking off).
Regardless of how you end up there though, once you're in the pool you've got to keep swimming, so inaction becomes much harder.
