I like the pool analogy, because what you need to do is just dive in, but I only know a handful of entrepreneurs who were confident enough to do that of their own volition.
What seems more common is people are either pushed into entrepreneurship out of necessity (putting food on the table however they can) or they stumble into it (hey this little side hustle is taking off).
Regardless of how you end up there though, once you're in the pool you've got to keep swimming, so inaction becomes much harder.
Well said. It's easy to spot but so hard to tell and shatter someone's dream. I even developed a workshop so people could come up with that on their own, but still rarely happens.
Haha, I can swim alright! Like you say, you have everything you need to get started! I had a coaching call this afternoon and we were having that exact conversation and then your article arrived a couple hours later! I need all the nudges I can get, I know I have what I need just paralysed with fear atm.
As an entrepreneur, I see it very similar, but use a different analogy, the one I borrowed from the myth of Sisyphus. Why? Lemme tell you my take on it...
Well, first of all, it takes a certain type of person to even be able to "cheat the death" by being a sole warrior fighting the entire system as an entrepreneur is nowadays. Not being that person and trying to cheat death can be fatal, obviously...
Even if you are that certain person, it is just the beginning as the "Gods" do not have rewards in store for you, but only more challenges, as each time you push your "rock" to the mountain's top, it is only time to start all over again. So, being that person and trying to cheat death can also be fatal, if you are not willing to accept continuous iterative cycles of work...
Whatever may happen in between, and whomever you might be or become, there is no time in this task, as it is eternal. There is no time to stop and think, no time for second thoughts, or even a best or worst moment in the journey. There is only work that counts, so not picking up the "do" approach immediately will make it grow to "doom" for you ultimately and infinitely. It is just a matter of the action-reaction physics, something deeply encoded in everything and everyone throughout the universe...
I still believe anyone can be become an entrepreneur if they train themselves to the right mentality and acceptance of the future fails in store. It is not an easy task, it is not an easy job, but it is definitely doable.
Ultimately, the only determining factors of individual success, as in entrepreneurship and any other personal challenge, as everything is fractal and connected, are the level of self-awareness and the level of reality acceptance (self-honesty). If you are self-aware enough, you will know what you are for or what you are missing for something, while you will be able to progress from that point only by accepting who you are, where you are, and what is actually going on.
So let's be real: do or don't, it's all up to you!!!

Yes, two articles a week please! I love how short, snappy and informative they are... and I appreciated the AI artwork too :)
Two articles per week is a good idea 🙂
thanks! ill try
Needed this read TODAY, uncanny how that timing worked!
Fully support the writing two articles, it will encourage me to at least get writing once:)
Why did you need it today? You reading about how to swim? :)

True that, and with a nice analogy there!
