Mailbox question. My business is growing and I’ve been hiring to facilitate scale. The problem is holding them accountable without babysitting. I delegate important tasks, convey how important it is to meet deadlines, check in with them daily, only to find out too late they have dropped the ball. It happens over and over again with multiple employees.
How can I delegate and hold accountable without excessive oversight?
And how can I get these people to care enough to want to do a good job?
I've said this in another reply to one of your posts but you are my spirit animal.
I've always imagined there are these unicorn 🦄 super people who can do everything and that I'm just a pathetic horse 🐎 that can't get ALL the things done.
It's insightful to know that actually everyone is a horse and they surround themselves with other horses that end up makeing a really cool rodeo.
Mailbox question that builds on Gail’s: How can I find GOOD people / help? (Ideally, so that Gail’s issues don’t happen.)
My inbox is flooded with pitches of companies offering help with ads or leads. I don’t believe any of them. But I’m sure some are decent, right?
And I’ve been burned by even simple things like bookkeeping, which ended up requiring more energy and involvement than just tracking my expenses in Quickbooks myself.
Jonathan, listening to this, I am hearing, “Only do what only you can do.” Focus on your geniuses and complement them with the geniuses of others. Everyone wins. Workinggenius.com
I think it's easier for me to figure out what bores the hell out of me, things that I wont be excited about VS what im really good at. So for me its easier to see where im a dumbass VS a genius :D
